Practical self-assessment

Is your website making customers work too hard?

Use this checklist to inspect seven parts of your site. Your answers stay in this browser page; no scan, ranking test, or data submission runs here.

How to use it

Open the real site as a customer would.

Check the homepage, a main service page, and the contact path on a phone. Mark each area honestly, then use the notes to plan what to inspect or fix.

01 / Mobile usability

Can a phone visitor read, navigate, and act without zooming or horizontal scrolling?

Open the homepage, one service page, and contact page on a narrow phone. Try the menu, buttons, and form with one hand.

02 / Service clarity

Can a new visitor tell which jobs you accept and which are outside your scope?

Ask someone unfamiliar with the business to describe the services after one minute on the site.

03 / Trust and proof

Do real photos, project details, team information, or verified credentials support your claims?

Inspect every badge, review, project caption, and result claim. Check approval and current accuracy.

04 / Contact accessibility

Is there a clear, working way to reach the business from the pages that matter?

Try the phone link and send a test form submission. Confirm it reaches the intended recipient and gives a truthful confirmation.

05 / Accessibility basics

Can you use the menu and form with a keyboard, see focus, and understand every field label?

Tab through the homepage and contact page. Zoom to 200% and check headings, labels, focus, and contrast.

06 / Speed and experience

Does the page remain usable while images, fonts, and scripts load?

Try a slower mobile connection and watch for a moving layout or a delayed main image. Measure with PageSpeed Insights if available.

07 / Search crawlability

Check a service page’s delivered HTML, canonical URL, sitemap entry, robots rules, and response status. Test an invalid URL for a real 404.

What this can and cannot tell you

A useful starting point, not a technical audit.

This checklist relies on your observations. It does not inspect source code, verify a business claim, measure Core Web Vitals, test accessibility comprehensively, or predict rankings or leads. For technical decisions, check the actual site and data with appropriate tools and a qualified reviewer.
